Julie received her Bachelor's degree from Indiana University in Telecommunications in 1988. In 1995 she experienced her first acupuncture session and was so intrigued with the stillness she felt inside that she began researching the field of Chinese medicine. She began school later that year. She received her Master's from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 1998. She completed her herbal training through Illinois State Acupuncture Association's Chinese herbal medicine program in 2000. She is National Board Certified by the NCCAOM in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and licensed by the state of Illinois. |

Julie created Healing Ground in 2002 because she wanted a facility where practitioners of different modalities could come together to support their patients. She has been in private practice for over 10 years. Julie's practice focuses on women's health and pediatrics. She is mostly recognized for her work with couples experiencing fertility difficulties. She is very knowledgeable in all aspects of labor and delivery, and has attended dozens of labors in hospitals in Evanston using acupuncture to effectively support the mother and progress the labor with less pain and complications. Having three children herself, she welcomes all children to experience the benefits of acupressure and Chinese herbal medicine to gently overcome most health issues.

Anna is an Intuitive, CranioSacral Therapist – Spiritual Somato Emotional Therapist, Life Changes - She comes from a long line of matriarchal healers, has 16+ years of experience in this field. Barbara Volpe, L.Ac, M.S.O.M
Barbara is a licensed acupuncturist with a graduate degree in Oriental Medicine. She received her training at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and completed advanced coursework at Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Nationally certified by the NCCAOM, Barbara is a member of the Illinois State Acupuncture Association and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. She uses all aspects of Chinese medicine to treat the full range of health imbalances, including infertility. Additionally, she provides pregnancy support.
Bonnie
Spina, Lic. Ac., NCCAOM
Bonnie graduated in 1997 from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, and in addition studied under Dr. Fu in the Peoples Republic of China. She received certification from the Guanzhou School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a complimentary modality, Bonnie was initiated in Peruvian Shamanism with The Four Winds Society. Her studies have taken her to Peru where she sat in Sacred Ceremony with the Quero Shamans as a Mesa Carrier. Using a unique combination of healing modalities, Bonnie works with clients to balance and clear the physical, mental and emotional bodies. Offering separately or together; Acupuncture, Kinesiology, Lightbody Energy Work and Chakra Balancing.
